Farlington & District Garden Club
The Farlington & District Garden Club are members of the Royal Horticultural Society.
We hold monthly meetings at St Andrews Hall. Guest speakers ar invited and they show slides
and talk about their chosen subject. Members are asked in a yearly survey to
request subjects that are of interest to them and the Secretary tries to book speakers
to match requests. At the meetings a raffle is held and tea/coffee is served.
There is a Bring & Buy stall and spring bulbs are sold during the autumn.
We have a Spring Show, a Rose & Sweet Pea Show, a large Summer Show
and a small Autumn Show.
At our May meeting we have a plant sale, our Chairman, Ann Howells,
usually opens her garden for a coffee evening or cream tea afternoon during July.
All club officers work on a voluntary basis and work hard to ensure the
smooth running of meetings and shows and also to ensure everyone enjoys
being part of a local community club and to have the opportunity
to learn more about gardening.
